The Haryana Cow Service Commission and the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, Panchkula, jointly organised a ceremony for the distribution of fodder grants to cowsheds in the Kalka assembly constituency at Shri Radhe Shyam Gaushala, Kalka. During the event, checks representing the grant amount from the Haryana Government were distributed to the representatives of Gaushalas based on the number of cows in each cowshed.
In attendance were notable figures such as Shravan Kumar Garg, Chairman of the Haryana Gau Seva Commission, Baton Kataria, Latika Sharma, former MLA of Kalka, Deepak Sharma, BJP District President, former BJP District President Ajay Sharma, Krishna Lamba, Kalka Municipal Council Chairman, Virendra Rana, BJP District General Secretary Panchkula, Sanjeev Sharma, Councilor Kalka, and other dignitaries. Checks totaling approximately Rs 18 lakh were distributed by Shravan Kumar Garg and Baton Kataria to the representatives of the seven cow shelters in the Kalka Assembly.
The Chairman of the Cow Service Commission expressed gratitude for the increased fodder grant, attributing it to the successful leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal. He emphasized that never before had such a substantial amount been allocated to cow shelters. In the financial year 2023-24, the budget for Gaushalas in Haryana was increased from Rs 30 crore to Rs 456 crore, a significant achievement under Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s guidance.
Dr. Ranjit Singh Jadaun, Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, Panchkula, shared that checks totaling Rs. 18,22,500 were distributed to the seven cowsheds in the Kalka assembly constituency as part of the fodder grant. The grant, amounting to Rs 750 per cow, was distributed to a total of 2430 cows in these sheds. Baton Kataria credited the present Haryana Government, led by Chief Minister Manohar Lal, for providing maximum assistance per cow to the cow shelters, prioritizing the welfare of the animals.
The event saw the participation of various social workers, including Khushdev, the head of Radheshyam Gaushala Kalka, and councilors Bhuvanjit and Narendra Lubana.
