Haryana’s Cooperative Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, has directed officials to increase the crushing capacity and sugar recovery in cooperative sugar mills. He instructed officials to ensure that stored sugar in warehouses remains free from moisture. The estimated target for sugarcane crushing for the 2023-2024 season in the state is set at 416 lakh quintals.
On Monday, he chaired a review meeting on the efficiency of cooperative sugar mills for the sugarcane crushing season 2023-2024. In the meeting, the Cooperative Minister was informed that as of January 23, sugarcane crushing of 167.43 lakh quintals has been completed in sugar mills. The production of 14.78 lakh quintals of sugar has already taken place.
