Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said that the state government is taking steps to enhance the state’s readiness for the forthcoming 5G technology and streamline departmental planning. While presiding over a meeting on the state’s readiness for 5G and streamlining departmental planning, Kaushal said that the state government in collaboration with BISAG-N has developed three innovative mobile applications to facilitate the mapping of street infrastructure and other departmental infrastructure. This initiative is a crucial step forward in enhancing the state’s readiness for 5G and streamlining departmental planning. These applications are specifically tailored to serve the needs of the Town and Country Planning, Urban Local Bodies, and the Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB) departments.
Kaushal directed the 12 inline departments to properly upload these layers onto a dedicated PM Gati Shakti portal in time. This data is pivotal to ensuring the efficient deployment of 5G technology. He also directed the officers of the Industries and Commerce Department to hold regular review meetings to address the issues and challenges faced by the departments in uploading the data to the portal. The Government of India (GOI) has recently requested specific data regarding the 5G rollout, prompting swift action from the Administrative Secretaries of 12 different departments. These departments have been directed to furnish comprehensive data on six key points related to the 5G rollout to the Industries and Commerce Department. The administrative secretaries have been given a brief window of just four to five days to comply with this request.
In an effort to address this crucial matter, an Additional Secretary from the Telecoms Department, Government of India is scheduled to visit the state on the upcoming October 20. This visit will culminate in a meeting with various departments, focused on teaching the departments how to use the portal to submit data. The importance of addressing these issues in a systematic and streamlined manner cannot be overstated, as these challenges encompass aspects like height, structural considerations, and various other pertinent elements integral to the successful 5G rollout.
