Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor participated as the chief guest in the state level workshop organized on the topic ‘Sky touching daughters-Mhari Laado’ at Indradhanush Auditorium, Sector-5, Panchkula on Tuesday. In the program, he explained in detail about the three main works being done by Haryana Police regarding women empowerment and highlighted the role of women in building a strong society.

Expressing his views on this occasion, the Director General of Police said that Haryana Police is working focusing on three main points to provide a safe environment to women in the state. First, to make molestation-prone hotspot areas safe for women, second, to prepare a database of public transport like autos, cabs and taxis etc. and paste unique stickers on them, and third, to make women’s travel safe through a trip monitoring system.

He told that currently 5750 women policemen are deployed in Haryana Police and through them, efforts are being made to know at which places women feel unsafe. By identifying such places, policemen are put on duty and women policemen are deployed in simple attire so that the unruly youth can be taught a lesson. Apart from this, Haryana Police has given special training to four-five women police personnel in every district in Gurugram so that better communication skills can be developed among women and by contacting women working in educational institutions and work places, they can find out the problem areas. Can get information about. He appealed to the representatives of educational institutions present in the workshop, in-charge of Women’s Cell and members of the Internal Grievance Redressal Committee and said that they should contact the students and inform Haryana Police about such places where women feel unsafe. So that they can be made safe for women.

Along with this, he also gave information about the unique ID stickers to be installed in public transport and said that a database has been prepared with the name, photo, mobile number, address etc. of auto drivers, cab drivers etc. in the state and other important information. Is. All these unique code stickers have been installed on the outside and inside of public transport like auto, e-rickshaw etc. The driver’s details including the unique ID of each vehicle are written on these stickers. If women ever feel unsafe, they can inform about it without any hesitation by calling the helpline number – 112. Police assistance will be provided to the woman as soon as possible. During this, he appealed to the women and said that they must download India-112 mobile app in their respective phones and use it whenever needed.

Along with this, Kapoor also gave information about the Trip Monitoring System recently launched by the Haryana Government and said that women should register themselves on the helpline number-112 and make their journey safe. He said that an initiative has been taken to strengthen the feeling of security among women during travel through trip monitoring system. He said that women who feel unsafe while travelling, must take advantage of the trip monitoring service. The woman’s journey will continue to be tracked by Haryana Police and her location will be tracked until she reaches her destination safely.

Kapoor said that women’s safety is a serious issue and Haryana Police is committed to providing a safe environment to women. He said that today women are playing a leading role in every field, be it sports field or education. He said that due to the efforts of the Haryana Government, the sex ratio rate is improving day by day. Due to the positive results of the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, today the sex ratio rate has crossed 920 and due to the organized efforts of the common people and the state government, this figure has increased. Will go up even more in future.

Earlier in the program, Professor Dr. Gurmeet of Panjab University and Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Chairperson of the Indian Theater Department of Panjab University also shared their views about the positive changes coming in the society regarding women. Women and Security Wing DIG Nazneen Bhasin was also present in the program.

This workshop was organized in the series of the second book fair being organized in Panchkula. This book fair is being organized jointly by Haryana Police, Haryana Urban Development Authority, Renewable Energy Department, Education Department, Electricity Department, Information Public Relations and Language Department and Culture Department.
