On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini paid tribute to the victims of the partition in Kurukshetra on Wednesday. He emphasized the errors made by Radcliffe in delineating borders without understanding Indian culture, which contributed to the tragedies of partition.
CM Saini remarked, “In 1947, an English officer named Radcliffe was assigned the task of drawing the border to separate Pakistan from India. Radcliffe, unfamiliar with Indian culture, demographics, and geography, had never visited India.” He further added, “Millions lost their lives and livelihoods due to the mistakes of others. The atrocities faced by women during that time remain horrifying even today.”
Earlier, CM Saini also expressed his tribute to the victims on X, stating, “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day reminds us of the suffering and struggle endured by those who faced the pain of displacement.
