Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, fulfilled the longstanding demand of Barwala residents by announcing the availability of sewerage facilities in the village, which would address the issue of waterlogging and ensure proper water drainage. He also announced that the community center in Barwala would be named after Shaheed Rajpal Rana.
These key announcements were made by the Chief Minister as he addressed the people during the Jan Samvad held at the community center in Barwala, district Panchkula today. Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta, and the Mayor, Sh. Kulbhushan Goyal also remained present on this occasion. Meanwhile, prior to this, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries also paid homage to the statue of Maharana Pratap in Barwala.
The Chief Minister stated that in the last 9 years of the present state government’s tenure, significant developmental work has been undertaken at the tehsil, block, and district levels. He said that substantial funds of Rs. 25 crores have been allocated for road construction in each constituency, with road construction work already underway. Furthermore, due to heavy rainfall, the repair and construction of bridges and roads have been initiated, with work currently in progress.
The Chief Minister further asserted that in the past, a lack of accurate population figures often led to estimation-based project implementation. However, the introduction of the Parivar Pehchan Patra has enabled the government to accurately determine the population of any village or town. The Chief Minister cited an example, noting that as of September 30, Barwala’s population was 11,308. The government also uses this PPP system to keep track of people’s birthdays and sends them congratulatory messages via SMS on their special day.
Manohar Lal shared that today 33 people have birthdays and he extended his best wishes to them, presenting some of them with gifts. He highlighted that the elderly no longer need to visit government offices to receive their Old Age Pension, as it is automatically disbursed once they turn 60.
Moreover, the Chief Minister also highlighted various government schemes for financial assistance, including pensions, for widows, the disabled, and other social security benefits being run by the state government. He shared that the Ayushman Bharat Yojana provides free medical treatment in both government and private hospitals, benefitting thousands of people. The Chief Minister commended the current government’s transparent approach to employment, emphasizing that job placements are now based on merit rather than corruption or nepotism. He shared that in the Panchkula district alone, 606 youths have secured government jobs, with 62 of them hailing from Barwala.
The Chief Minister said that the government has made available free medical treatment of up to Rs. 5, 00,000 annually through the Ayushman Bharat scheme. In Barwala, 3,000 people have Ayushman cards, and 74 individuals have already benefited from this program, with medical expenses totaling Rs. 16 lakhs, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that the state government had expanded the scope of this initiative by implementing the Chirayu Haryana Yojana, which allows families with an annual income ranging from Rs.1.80 lakh to Rs. 3 lacks to avail insurance coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh by paying a premium of only Rs. 1,500. This scheme will benefit an additional 8 lakh families, shared the Chief Minister.
Manohar Lal stated that during the tenure of previous governments, corruption was rampant in job appointments, and jobs were granted based on expenses and recommendations. However, the current state government is providing employment to the youth transparently based on merit.
He also mentioned that the main objective of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Melas is to establish self-employment for impoverished families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh 80, improving their standard of living. In these Melas, loans of 24 people in the district have been approved and the maximum loan amount has also been disbursed.
Manohar Lal while talking on the issue of illegal mining, clarified that mining deeper than the prescribed limits would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Monthly drone mapping of mining sites will be carried out by the district administration, and strict action will be taken against overloading tippers by the police department, he said.
The Chief Minister emphasized that overloading causes damage to roads and increases the risk of accidents, besides harming the environment. The government has allocated Rs. 4.50 crore to compensate those affected by losses due to the heavy rainfall and flooding. Those who have yet to report their losses on the portal may submit written applications to the Deputy Commissioners, he said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s commitment to transparency, development, and welfare, affirming its dedication to the welfare of all citizens.
