Telugu Talons and Delhi Panzers, have joined the Premier Handball League (PHL), enhancing the league’s pan-India appeal just days after Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh and Garvit Gujarat were confirmed as members.
Abhishek Reddy Kankanala is the owner of the Hyderabad team. The well-known sports businessman Abhishek is well-known for his participation in a number of sports, including volleyball (Hyderabad Black Hawks), badminton, golf, and other league teams. The group will represent the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Abhishek thinks that handball has a comparable chance to help many aspiring athletes emerge and perhaps draw greater attention to this Olympic sport within the Premier Handball League.
Vineet Bhandari, the founder and managing director (MD) of Bhandari Sports Private Limited, is the primary owner of Panzers. Vineet is a sports businessman who has a passion for basketball, volleyball, and handball. Under his ownership, his volleyball team, the Kolkata Thunderbolts, won the league’s inaugural season championship. Rajat Agarwal, a second-generation businessman, and Sailesh Arya, MD of Imperial Infrastructure and Dredging Pvt. Ltd. and CEO of Heritage Group of Companies, are also joint owners of the team. Rajat and Sailesh’s endeavour represents their introduction into the field of sports investing.
The auctions for the Premier Handball League will be held on 23 April, Sunday at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The Premier Handball League (PHL), is sanctioned by the South Asian Handball Federation and affiliated with the Asian Handball Federation (AHF). The inaugural season of the Premier Handball League is set to kick off on 8 June and run until 25 June, 2023, which will be broadcast on the Viacom18 network on JioCinema, Sports 18-1 (HD & SD) and Sports 18 Khel.
