The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) seized Rs 350 crore of heroin from a Pakistani boat on Saturday.
In a joint operation, the ICG and ATS also arrested six crew members from the boat named Al Sakar. The boat was close to the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in the Arabian Sea.
Meanwhile, at the port of Jakhua in Gujarat, the boat will be investigated.
Taking to Twitter the Indian Coast Guard tweeted, “In a joint Ops with ATS #Gujarat, @IndiaCoastGuard apprehended #Pakistani Boat Al Sakar with 06 crew in Indian waters of #ArabianSea carrying about 50 Kgs heroin worth approx. 350 cr. The boat is being brought to #Jakhau for further investigation. @DefenceMinIndia @narcoticsbureau.”
Over the last year, this is the sixth operation and in the last month ICG and ATS carried out the operation for the second time.
Earlier in September, ICG arrested a Pakistani boat Al Tayyasa with six crew members. The boat was carrying 40 kgs of heroin and was apprehended six miles inside Indian waters.
