The second day of the 11th Chintan Shibir, organized by the Gujarat government at Somnath, featured a pivotal session on “Utilization of Deep Technology for Strengthening Government Services” and “AI and Data Analytics.” The session was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, marking a significant step in the state’s efforts to enhance public services through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technology.

NVIDIA Director Highlights AI’s Transformative Potential

NVIDIA Director Jigar Halani delivered an insightful presentation on the transformative potential of AI in improving the accessibility and efficiency of public welfare services. Halani emphasized Gujarat’s ongoing initiatives and opportunities to adopt AI, positioning the state as a leader in this technological revolution. The state’s progress in AI adoption was underscored, with examples such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” radio program now being accessible in 23 languages through AI technology.

The session also highlighted AI’s role in enhancing judicial systems and government welfare initiatives. Presentations showcased how AI can be leveraged to improve the effectiveness of state-run welfare programs, making them more citizen-centric and efficient in delivery. The discussions further explored the potential of AI in promoting Gujarat’s cultural heritage and traditional arts, providing sustainable livelihoods for local artisans.

Expanding Markets and Empowering Artisans

A major focus of the discussions was on using AI to expand the global reach of locally crafted products, promoting business growth and empowering artisans to thrive in international markets. By embracing AI, Gujarat aims to unlock new economic opportunities for its artisans and boost their global presence.

An engaging PowerPoint presentation discussed the potential of AI in creating local employment opportunities, particularly for Gujarat’s youth. The session outlined steps the government could take to accelerate AI adoption, with a focus on establishing AI as a key factor in grassroots job creation and sustainable development.

The discussions at the Chintan Shibir were aimed at driving inclusive and sustainable development through AI, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat.” Senior officials, including members of the State Cabinet, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, and other dignitaries, were present to support the initiative.

The Chintan Shibir sessions emphasized the importance of integrating AI into various sectors to support Gujarat’s growth, improve government services, and create a more inclusive and prosperous future for its citizens.
