Gujarat Congress leaders held a private meeting at a farmhouse in Ahmedabad, and the clandestine gathering has raised several questions. Amit Chavda, the state president of the party, did not attend the meeting.

“I was already aware of the meeting. I was staying away from the meeting so as not to send a wrong message to the party,” he said.

“I knew about meeting at the farmhouse. We were instructed to stay so could not attend the meeting,” Chavda added.

The main agenda of the meeting was as to how Bharat Solanki can register his activism, and in addition, the post of State President and Leader of Opposition is going to be vacated shortly. Who will fill his place soon? MLAs are demanding an answer.

The meeting was attended by MLAs and leaders of the Koli and Thakor communities. Bharatsinh Solanki, Jagdish Thakor, Vimal Chudasama. Ganiben Thakor, Chandanji Thakor, Rajesh Gohil were also present. And the sudden secret meeting has also stirred controversy. At the same time, sources say that a meeting has also been held for the lobbying of the regional president and the leader of the opposition.

Assembly elections are going to be held in Gujarat after one and a half years. Efforts are being made to revive the dead Congress in Gujarat. As the Gujarat Congress is without a leader at present, the discussions on the selection of the Leader of the Opposition and the State President have gained momentum.
