An Australian police officer broke a world record, which stood for almost a decade. Guinness World Records confirmed that Jade Henderson completed 733 pull-ups in one hour on August 22, a showcase of incredible physical strength and mental toughness.
Who Is Jade Henderson?
Jade Henderson is an Australian police officer who recently made global headlines by breaking the world record for the most pull-ups completed in one hour. She achieved an incredible 733 pull-ups averaging more than 12 per minute surpassing the previous record of 725 set by Eva Clarke in 2016.
Jade Henderson Record Attempt on the Gold Coast
The challenge was done by Henderson on the Gold Coast, where she managed to maintain a pace of over 12 pull-ups per minute. With her final count, she beat the previous record of 725 pull-ups set in 2016 by Eva Clarke, an athlete from Australia. After the feat, Henderson said she hopes her success inspires others to explore their own abilities.
"I liked the idea of doing something nobody else had ever done," the 32-year-old told Guinness World Records. "I wanted to see what my mind and body were capable of."
Injury changed Jade Henderson original goal
Henderson hadn't initially planned on attempting the one-hour record. First, she'd wanted to take on the 24-hour pull-up record currently held by Olivia Vinson, at 7,079 pull-ups. Instead, her training took an unexpected course.
In her final April training, she managed 3,500 pull-ups in 12 hours but sustained a bicep tear, partial tendon, and muscle damage. As a result of this serious injury, she had to stop training for six weeks.
Jade Henderson Shifting Focus to a Safer Record
Not wanting to exacerbate her injury, Henderson changed her focus to the one-hour record instead of attempting the 24-hour challenge. She did not have a particular number in mind; she just wanted to break the previous record.
