The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to launch the next stage of its ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Gopal Rai, a leader of the party, announced that this phase will commence on May 13, focusing on the four Delhi Lok Sabha constituencies where AAP candidates are contesting. This upcoming phase will include various events like ‘Mahila Samvad’ (dialogue with women) and Trade Town Hall discussions.
The campaign centers around AAP’s protest against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, the party’s national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, in connection with an alleged Delhi excise policy scam. AAP aims to challenge the actions of central agencies by rallying strong support through votes for the party.
Rai explained that the campaign has already seen activities such as door-to-door outreach, Sankalp Sabha gatherings, and roadshows featuring Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife. Now, moving into the next phase from May 13 to May 23, AAP intends to intensify its efforts to raise awareness and garner support against Kejriwal’s arrest, as quoted by PTI.
