AP Singh, the lawyer representing self-styled godman Suraj Pal alias Narayan Sakar Hari, asserted during a media address that the tragic stampede at the July 2 satsang was not accidental but a premeditated conspiracy. According to Singh, witnesses have informed him that during the event, 15-16 individuals with covered faces were present, carrying cans of a poisonous substance which they dispersed into the crowd. He cited post-mortem reports indicating deaths due to asphyxiation rather than injuries.

Claiming evidence of a conspiracy, Singh alleged that vehicles were strategically parked for the perpetrators’ escape, emphasizing his intention to submit proof. He urged the police to secure CCTV footage crucial for identifying those responsible. “This is not an accident. It’s a murder,” asserted Singh.

Currently, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested nine individuals, including two women and three senior citizens, several of whom were volunteers at the satsang. Among them is Dev Prakash Madhukar, the main organizer implicated for his role in fundraising for Narayan Sakar Hari’s events through donation collections.

Contrary to police assertions, Singh, who also represents Madhukar, clarified that his client surrendered in Delhi while seeking medical treatment, dismissing any involvement in criminal activities related to the incident.

Notably, Suraj Pal, though not named in the FIR, remains untraceable since the stampede.
