The Goa Police have taken decisive action in response to the discovery of alleged prostitution activities and have submitted a formal request to a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in North Goa district, urging the sealing of two resorts implicated in these illicit operations, according to an official statement.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jivba Dalvi, explained that the authority to seal premises under such circumstances derives from section 18 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. This move by the police followed the successful dismantling of an international sex trafficking racket, which resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Kenya and Israel.
Dalvi confirmed that the police have sent a formal communication to the SDM of Bardez taluka, situated in North Goa district, with the specific request to seal the two resorts. These establishments, located in Vagator and Siolim in North Goa, are alleged to have been involved in facilitating prostitution activities.
