Shikhar Pahariya has been a name heard throughout social media and film industries, largely being introduced through rumors of him dating the actress Janhvi Kapoor.
He is more than just a celebrity boyfriend and his endeavors within business, philanthropy and sports in addition to his prominent heritage, have sculpted him into a youthful figure who invites curiosity and argument in equal measures.
Born in New Delhi on March 29, 1996 and brought up in Mumbai, Shikhar represents a family whose members have been intrinsically associated with public life.
He happens to be the maternal grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Union Minister Sushilkumar Shinde. In due course, he has established his own identity through entrepreneurship, polo and an increasing involvement in social work.
In 2025 at 30, Shikhar represents the postmillennial generation that is just beginning to assume leadership roles and learning to cope with the scrutiny that comes with the limelight.
He attended the Bombay Scottish School and later the Dhirubhai Ambani International School. He has since relocated to London where he earned a degree in Global Financial Management from Regent's University.
Shikhar is the son of businessman Sanjay Pahariya and producer Smruti Shinde, parents who separated in 2008. His elder brother Veer Pahariya, who has been part of the entertainment industry was once in the news for his own links to celebrities.
His career started early when he set up a small consulting venture for pet owners at age thirteen. Later, he moved into working as an investment analyst at London based Wadhawan Global Capital and went on to co-found Indiawyn Gaming is one of India's early live-interaction gaming platforms.
He went on to establish Basilius International, an infrastructure company involved in aviation, energy and community development projects across India and abroad.
Shikhar has taken an active part in social causes, especially in Solapur. His contributions include supporting drought relief, pandemic aid, drives for the employment of youth and library programs. His Veera Foundation works on redefining male allyship and opening conversations about gender roles among young men.
A trained rider and an avid player of polo, he has represented India in several international tournaments including winning the 7th Asia Polo Cup in Windsor in 2013 as part of the Jaipur team.
His romance with Janhvi Kapoor has always been in the spotlight. Though none of them has accepted it their outings together, holidays and then social media interaction kept the speculation alive.
Reports place his net worth at around $10 million approx Rs 84 crore. He owns luxury vehicles and has invested in real estate.
Shikhar has sometimes found himself in the midst of public debates. His reactions to caste-based trolling, his posts on national security and his comments on Maharashtra's language politics have all received polarised responses.
