The internet is buzzing once again with Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, a couple whose on-screen and off-screen chemistry has been making fans speculate for years. With reports stating that the Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade actors secretly got engaged last month, fans are dubbing it the most beautiful love story in Tollywood.
In the last fortnight, keen-eyed fans observed the two sporting what appeared to be matching rings Vijay wearing a stylish platinum ring while Rashmika flashed a glittering diamond ring. So when she recently appeared at the promotional events for her forthcoming film Thamma, fans understandably showered her with congratulatory messages.
During an interview with Galatta Plus, the host surprised her by saying, "Congratulations!" Rashmika looked confused at first, assuming it was about her new perfume line. But when the host cheekily added, “.or is it something else?” she blushed and laughed, replying, “No, no. Actually, there’s quite a lot happening. So I’ll take your congratulations on them all.”
The short clip instantly went viral, winning over the internet yet again.
Social media enthusiasts couldn't get enough of her cute reaction. "Look at her reaction, kitne awesome yaarr," wrote a fan, while another just said, "Cutie." Several playfully tagged the actors, joking, "@rashmika_mandanna why conceal it when the entire world already knows… @thedeverakonda."
The camaraderie between the two started on the Geetha Govindam sets in 2018, followed by Dear Comrade in 2019. Their chemistry was effortless, and they became an instant fan-favourite couple in South Indian cinema instantly. While both still maintain they are "just very close friends," their regular vacations, public appearances, and endorsement of each other hint at something more.
As per industry gossip, the duo is set to have a private wedding in February next year with friends and family members only in attendance. Though neither of them has announced it, the fans are already gearing up for the big reveal.
On the work front, Rashmika is otherwise engaged in promoting her horror-romantic comedy Thamma, in which she plays a co-star with Ayushmann Khurrana and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is busy with VD13, an action entertainer with high octane, which will release next summer.
