About One Piece Anime Hiatus
Little over a week ago, One Piece officially announced a three-month hiatus of its long-running anime series. This surprise hiatus is part of a bigger plan to address the pacing of the series, a major complaint from fans.
As per the official announcement, the anime will be on a break starting January 2026, following the conclusion of the Egghead arc and will begin airing seasonally starting April 2026. The anime will pivot from its year-long production schedule to a seasonal programming, airing only 26 episodes in a year. Moreover, the announcement also promised to adapt one manga chapter per episode to address the pacing issues that have been a major complaint of the series.
