Mahesh Babu shared a heartfelt tribute to his father, the late superstar Krishna, on November 15, the anniversary of his passing at the age of 79 in 2022. The emotional post comes just hours before the highly anticipated launch event in Hyderabad for Mahesh’s upcoming film, tentatively titled GlobeTrotter. The actor expressed his deep longing for his father, sharing his hope of continuing to make him proud.
On Saturday afternoon, Mahesh Babu took to his social media accounts, including X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, to post a touching vintage photograph of himself with his father.
The shared picture captures a moment, seemingly from a film set, showing Krishna dressed stylishly in a leather jacket and a chequered shirt, standing near a classic motorbike. A much younger Mahesh, wearing a white shirt and jeans, looks up at his father. Accompanying the photograph, the actor wrote, “Thinking of you a little more today… and knowing you’d be proud nanna (red heart emojis).”
Mahesh Babu’s wife, former actor and model Namrata Shirodkar, also posted a tribute to her father-in-law on the same day. Sharing a picture of the late superstar, she wrote, “Honouring his spirit today… a life lived with dignity, goodness, and so much heart. Forever remembered with love and gratitude.” Namrata also acknowledged her husband’s post with a comment featuring red heart emojis.
Their daughter, Sitara Ghattamaneni, joined in remembering her grandfather. Posting a picture of them together, she wrote, “Missing my Thathagaru as always… His love, his blessings, and his quiet strength continue to guide us in everything we do. I know he’s always watching over us…”
The buzz surrounding Mahesh Babu intensified as the family shared their tributes, coinciding with the massive launch event scheduled for this evening.
The actor’s next major project, directed by the acclaimed SS Rajamouli, is currently carrying the working title GlobeTrotter (also known as SSMB 29). The film is set for an official launch later today, Saturday evening, at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.
The production has already unveiled the first-look posters for other key cast members: Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha and Priyanka Chopra as Mandakini. The highly anticipated reveal of Mahesh Babu's look from the film, along with the official title and a preliminary glimpse, is expected to take place at the event tonight.
