K-Pop Star HyunA Diagnosed with Vasovagal Syncope
Later, doctors confirmed that HyunA has vasovagal syncope, wherein a person suddenly faints due to the fast drop in heartbeat and blood pressure caused by elements such as stress, pain, or exhaustion.
According to The Korean Times, it does not usually pose a life-threatening problem, though dizziness, blurred vision, or nausea may appear before fainting. Health experts added that patients should learn what triggers the condition and, when they feel at risk, lie down, raise their legs to restore blood flow to the brain.
K-Pop Star HyunA, From Wonder Girls to Global Stardom
Kim Hyuna was born in 1992 and started her career in 2007 as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls but left the group after health problems. She rejoined the K-pop world two years later, this time as a member of the girl group 4Minute, in which she would soon become one of the group’s most popular voices and faces, considered to be a “sexy icon” in Korean pop culture.
HyunA’s popularity reached a higher level when she formed a co-ed duo called Trouble Maker with Hyunseung, and their single “Trouble Maker” was released in 2011. The bold and sensual performances of the two were among the most talked-about acts in K-pop.
K-Pop Star HyunA Global Breakthrough
Her international breakout came in 2012, when she featured in Psy’s viral hit “Gangnam Style” and its follow-up “Oppa Is Just My Style,” which showed her signature charm to millions of global viewers. Since the 2016 breakup of 4Minute, HyunA continued with a solo career that saw the release of several chart-topping hits like “Bubble Pop!” in 2011, “Red” in 2014, and “Roll Deep” in 2015, which presented her unique hip-hop and pop influences.
Breaking Barriers and Redefining K-pop Image In 2018, HyunA was in the headlines after announcing her relationship with fellow idol Dawn, Kim Hyo-jong, despite the K-pop world’s strict no-dating culture. This openness led to their removal from Cube Entertainment but positioned her as a trailblazer for personal freedom in the entertainment world. Later, she joined P NATION, Psy’s label, and continued her music journey with hits like “Flower Shower” in 2019. A Symbol of Strength and Self-Expression Controversy, health battles, industrial weight-HyunA is, arguably, one of the most fearless and highly influential figures in K-pop. The ability of her career to reinvent itself, to stay resilient, and strikingly self-expressive has kept younger artists who have a drive to balance authenticity and success within the heavy walls of K-pop.
