The much-awaited Season 2 of Wednesday will premiere on Netflix in two parts. The first part drops globally on August 6, 2025, at 12 a.m. PT. The new season continues to explore Wednesday Addams’ journey at the Nevermore Academy as she faces new challenges, threats, and family-related twists.
Why Was Season 2 Delayed?
Co-creator Miles Millar, in a chat with Collider, shared insights into the reasons behind the extended gap between the seasons. According to him, the three-year delay occurred due to the writers’ strike and the relocation of the production from Romania to Ireland.
Millar also pointed out the ambitious production goals for this season, which contributed to the postponement. “Over 3500 visual effects shots were created for this season,” he said, calling the scale of each episode “movie-scale in terms of effort and complexity.” He added that the team was still completing the visual effects just days before the release.
Episode Count and Titles for Part 1
Season 2 of Wednesday consists of eight episodes in total, split evenly across two parts. The first four episodes in Part 1 are titled:
- Episode 1: Here We Woe Again
- Episode 2: The Devil You Woe
- Episode 3: Call of the Woe
- Episode 4: If These Woes Could Talk
These episodes pick up the story from where Season 1 left off.
When Will Part 2 Be Released?
‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2 is set to premiere on September 3, 2025. This month-long gap will divide the series’ new season into two halves. Previously, this strategy was seen in popular shows such as ‘Emily in Paris’, ‘Cobra Kai’, Stranger Things’ etc. The wait keeps the users hooked for the final episodes.
What to Expect in Season 2?
Season 2 takes off from where the first season ended. ‘Wednesday’, the main character of the series, is now being stalked, and this mystery plays an important role in the new episodes. The trailer showcases her getting psychic visions about Enid getting into some sort of dangerous situation, sending her back into detective mode.
The storyline also touches on her increased popularity after saving Nevermore and the broader expansion of the supernatural universe. Key characters, including Pugsley and her parents, will be featured in the new season.
In an interview with Tudum, co-creators Millar and Alfred Gough shared that, “Wednesday returns thinking she understands Nevermore. However, things have changed, and nothing works the way she expects.”
