Taylor Swift has officially ended speculation that she appeared as a bear in Happy Gilmore 2. The rumor had been circulating widely among fans online, sparking memes and playful debates on social media. Swift decided to clear the air while joining her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce on their New Heights podcast. When Jason directly asked her to “confirm or deny” the claim, Swift didn’t hesitate and firmly responded, “I can deny!” Her quick and candid reply immediately put an end to the chatter, showing she was amused but also ready to set the record straight.
Swift said she and Kelce often laugh about such stories. “We’ll send it to each other and be like, ‘Hey, did you hear I was the bear in there?’ At this point, we’re just like, of course, they think I’m inside of a bear costume,” she explained.
Although she denied it, Swift admitted she was touched by the association. “I’m honoured to be thought of in that context because I loved that movie so much. I watched it multiple times,” she said.

Earlier in July, Swift openly celebrated Travis Kelce’s cameo in the Netflix sports comedy, calling it one of her favorite surprises of the film. Kelce appeared in a lighthearted role as a waiter in the 2025 sequel, a moment that quickly caught the attention of both NFL fans and Swifties.
Swift took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting the movie’s official poster to her massive audience of over 280 million followers. In her Story, she praised the sequel for its humor and energy. “Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie. An absolute must watch… 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible,” she wrote, adding her trademark enthusiasm with playful exaggeration.
Her post not only fueled buzz around the film but also highlighted her public support for Kelce’s on-screen debut, marking another instance where the couple’s professional and personal worlds crossed in the spotlight.
Happy Gilmore 2 carries forward the legacy of the 1996 cult-favorite sports comedy, a film that made Adam Sandler a household name. Directed by Kyle Newacheck, the sequel blends nostalgia with fresh comedic energy. Returning cast members include Sandler in his iconic role, along with Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, and Dennis Dugan—each reprising the characters that defined the original film.
The sequel also introduces new faces, such as filmmaker Benny Safdie and global music star Bad Bunny, adding a contemporary twist to the storyline. With its mix of familiar humor, slapstick energy, and celebrity cameos, the movie is positioned as both a tribute to long-time fans and a fresh entry point for new audiences. Netflix has marketed it as one of its biggest comedy releases of 2025, sparking global chatter online.

While shutting down the film cameo rumors, Taylor Swift also kept the spotlight firmly on her own career. During her appearance on the New Heights podcast, she dropped a major surprise for fans: the title of her highly anticipated 12th studio album.
In a short clip posted on the podcast’s Instagram, Swift leaned in with excitement and said, “Can I show you something?” before unveiling the name The Life of a Showgirl. The announcement instantly set social media ablaze, with fans speculating about the album’s theme, visuals, and sound.
This project will follow her record-breaking The Tortured Poets Department, continuing her streak of reinvention. Industry experts suggest the title hints at a glamorous, theatrical era, possibly blending storytelling with stage-like artistry. For fans, the reveal was yet another reminder of Swift’s knack for keeping surprises hidden until just the right moment.
