A New York federal judge has once again denied bail to rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, ruling that there are no “exceptional reasons” to release him before his October 3, 2025 sentencing.

Conviction for Prostitution Charges

Diddy, founder of Bad Boy Records, was found guilty of transporting individuals for prostitution. However, the court cleared him of more serious charges such as sex trafficking and racketeering.

Court Deems Diddy a Risk

Judge Arun Subramanian stated that Diddy still poses a “risk of flight or danger.” He asked the rapper’s legal team to provide clear and convincing evidence that Diddy would not harm victims or flee, but they failed to do so.

No Special Conditions Justify Release

Subramanian explained that only “exceptional reasons”—like old age or serious medical issues—could support bail. He made it clear that no higher bond or stricter conditions would change the decision, especially given the strength of the evidence.

Fourth Bail Denial

This is the fourth time a court has denied Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ bail request. Just last week, his legal team submitted a detailed 62-page application urging the court to consider his release ahead of sentencing. However, the judge rejected it, citing insufficient “exceptional reasons” and emphasizing that no added conditions or higher bond amount would reduce the risks he poses.

According to Variety, the court remains firm in its stance that Diddy presents a significant flight risk and potential danger to others, including victims and witnesses involved in the ongoing legal proceedings.

Case Sparked by Cassie Ventura’s Lawsuit

The case began when Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse, exploitation, and misconduct. Her legal action led to multiple other allegations from different individuals, including rape, sex trafficking, harassment, and violence.

Diddy Held in Brooklyn Jail

Rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been in custody at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest in September 2024. Despite multiple attempts to secure bail, federal judges have repeatedly denied his requests, citing risks of flight and potential danger to the community.

The charges stem from a series of allegations, including his recent conviction for transporting individuals for prostitution. Although he was acquitted of more serious charges like sex trafficking and racketeering, he still faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison if the court finds him guilty on all remaining counts, according to People magazine.

Legal experts say Diddy’s continued detention reflects the severity of the case and the court’s insistence on strong evidence to justify any release ahead of his October 3, 2025 sentencing.
