Michelle Monaghan has signed on for Netflix’s upcoming comedy Little Brother, according to Deadline. She joins a star-studded cast that includes John Cena and Eric Andre.
Director Matt Spicer, best known for Ingrid Goes West, will lead the project. His unique storytelling style is expected to bring a fresh tone to the comedy.
Although Netflix hasn't confirmed her character officially, sources suggest that Monaghan will play the wife of Cena’s character. Her role is expected to be both emotional and humorous.
The story follows a successful real estate agent whose life turns upside down when his unpredictable younger brother suddenly visits. Cena and Andre, who previously worked together on The Eric Andre Show, reunite for this new adventure.
The film also features a solid supporting cast, including Chris Meloni, Ego Nwodim, Sherry Cola, Caleb Hearon, and Ben Ahlers. Their diverse comedic styles promise plenty of laughs.
Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel have written the script. David Bernad will produce under Middle Child Pictures, with Ruben Fleischer also serving as a producer.
Monaghan continues to land exciting roles. She will appear in season two of Bad Monkey on Apple TV+ and co-star with Robert De Niro in Netflix’s crime thriller The Whisper Man. That film is based on Alex North’s novel and tells the story of a father seeking help from his estranged dad after his son goes missing.
In addition, Monaghan will return for the sequel to The Family Plan, where she’ll reunite with Mark Wahlberg. This sequel adds to her growing list of high-profile projects.
