Filming of Landman Season 2 in North Texas: rustic homes in Fort Worth’s Camp Bowie district, pop‑up sets in Jacksboro, and an on‑location casino shoot near Durant, Oklahoma (Landman)
Landman's second season is on the way! On January 12, 2025, Season 1 came to a stunning conclusion, leaving viewers with a lot of unanswered concerns. Paramount+ will hopefully address these questions by bringing the drama back.
As it prepares for its eagerly awaited second season on Paramount+, Taylor Sheridan's gritty oilfield drama Landman is once again finding gold. Christian Wallace's popular podcast Boomtown served as the inspiration for the program. According to Fort Worth Magazine, news about the new sequel's creation started to circulate earlier this year from North Texas and Oklahoma.
When the productions stopped in Jacksboro on July 9, the local police station was transformed into the Odessa Police Department. According to Fort Worth Magazine, the site served as a backdrop for a funeral sequence that the crew filmed at Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro.
Landman Season 2 will debut on November 17, 2025, according to Paramount+, with new episodes airing every week after that. In addition to Billy Bob Thornton, Season 1 cast members Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland will all be returning to their roles.
Landman Season 2 was filmed mainly throughout North Texas, particularly Fort Worth, where production began in March. Significant scenes were filmed in such recognizable places as Texas Christian University (TCU), Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth, the Omni Hotel and the First United Methodist Church in Springtown.
These locations lend a sense of real visual texture to the oil‑patch setting. The crew also used small businesses and neighborhood exteriors in Weatherford and Benbrook to represent the rural Permian Basin backdrop.
In early July, production moved to Jacksboro, Texas, turning the Jacksboro Police Station into an Odessa PD set for filming a funeral scene at Faith Community Hospital. Highway 380 and a couple of adjoining streets were closed to allow uninterrupted shooting from early morning until night.
In June, Landman crews slipped across the Red River into Durant, Oklahoma. There, casino scenes were filmed where extras reportedly portrayed gamblers and resort staff at Choctaw Casino & Resort, thus widening the narrative canvas beyond West Texas oilfields.
