‘Its Going To Be Okay’: Sophie Turner’s Advice to HBO’s Harry Potter Series Cast

Sophie Turner shared her thoughts on the star cast of the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series. Reflecting on her experience of early fame, she shared a few words of wisdom for the new batch of stars.

The Harry Potter fever has been taking over social media for the past few months. With the news of the beloved movie franchise getting a web series reboot, fans have been on the lookout for anything related to the upcoming HBO series. One such personality who has come forth to express her concerns regarding the upcoming Harry Potter series is Sophie Turner. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Hollywood star discussed the risks associated with being a child star, including those faced by the new cast of Harry Potter, among other topics.

The Game of Thrones star, who was cast as Sansa Stark when she was 14, talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the new cast of Harry Potter. The Hollywood star shared that being a child star comes with its own set of problems. She reflected on her journey on how she was lucky to get a few years as a star, thanks to social media being in its infancy. However, when the social media fever hit and the actress became a popular face thanks to the success of Game of Thrones (GOT), it took a toll on her. Explaining her state at the time, the actress said that social media almost "destroyed" her a number of times. 

"l think social media was just really becoming a big thing after I started on Game of Thrones, so I got a couple of years of peace and quiet and then I had to adjust. It had such a profound impact on my mental health, like more than I could tell you. It almost destroyed me on numerous occasions," Sophie Turner told The Hollywood Reporter.

Tuner also expressed her feelings towards the new cast of Harry Potter and shared a few words of encouragement for the new batch of young superstars. She said that she wants to hug the kids and tell me, "it's going to be okay." As words of wisdom coming from a former child actor and global sensation, Turner also advised the youngsters to keep a safe distance from social media and spend quality time with family members. She urged them to be grounded when faced with the newfound fame and global attention that put them in front of old and new Harry Potter fans.

"l look at the kids who are about to be in the new 'Harry Potter' and I just want to give them a hug and say, 'Look, it's going to be okay but don't go anywhere near social media," Turned said.

The Upcoming Harry Potter Series on HBO

The upcoming HBO Harry Potter series has been in the news cycle for a while. Fans were curious about the new cast members, with online forums actively sharing their thoughts on the latest updates. As per reports, the production house auditioned around 32,000 child actors for the lead role,s with them finally announcing the new cast members on social media to a positive response. Portraying the iconic trio in the upcoming series are Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ronald Weasley. Apart from the star trio, other cast members include Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, among others, recreating the iconic Harry Potter universe.

The series began production in July 2025, with its release expected to be in late 2026 or early 2027.
