Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams simply released 17 previously unreleased songs on her website, no warning signs, no hype. The only hint? A mysterious access code that was offered as part of her Good Dye Young hair color line, according to Billboard.

Fans Unlock Hidden Music Via Secret Code

Fans who solved it were rewarded with a secret page that contained raw, emotionally charged tunes such as Mirtazapine, Hard, and Discovery Channel. The present did not stop there; a Misc folder was also found with a 2017 live video, written lyric sheets, and a cheeky t-shirt that proclaims “Hayley Williams is my favorite band.”

Hidden in the surprise release of the song are several other songs with unusual titles such as Disappearing Man, Dream Girl In Shibuya, and Zissou. Discovery Channel, a highlight, is a nod to Bloodhound Gang’s 1999 smash The Bad Touch, pilfering a line from its saucy chorus.

Is a Full-Length Album in the Works?

According to Variety, Hayley’s new release raised the question: is a whole album secretly in progress, or are these merely random standalone gems? The uncertainty has only fueled curiosity, particularly after her most recent collaboration with Moses Sumney on I Like It I Like It. A reputation for forging her own artistic path means that Williams has also released two intimate solo albums and three EPs under her belt.

Surprise Drop Coincides With Paramore Milestone

The new batch dump of songs follows just days after Paramore’s release of the band’s first album All We Know Is Falling, marking its 20th anniversary. The reissued treasures among them was The Summer Tic EP, first released digitally after being available in CD form for years. Longtime fans appreciated the gesture as a love letter to Paramore’s humble beginnings.

Worth noting is that this re-release of All We Know Is Falling also comes at a pivotal time in the band’s career. Having broken up with longtime label Atlantic Records in December, Paramore has since entered into independence, with intentions to map their future on their own terms. New music is said to be on the horizon.
