Let’s get real, certain on-screen friendships are so legendary, they make our actual group chats resemble potato salad. We’ve laughed with them, cried with them, and secretly prayed we could beam into their crew. Whether it’s coffee at Central Perk, gossip on the Upper East Side, or killing monsters in the Upside Down, these imaginary BFFs are the template.
So here’s a shoutout to some of the greatest on-screen BFFs we truly deserve in real life.
Blair and Serena, Gossip Girl

If there is a discussion about friendships, it is impossible to not include Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen. These girls walked so other ‘queens’ can run. They fought like sisters, made up like soulmates, and never let drama (or boys!) fully break their bond. Did they occasionally sabotage each other? Yes. Did they also fiercely defend one another when it mattered? Absolutely. They were more than friends, they were family.
Enid and Wednesday, Wednesday

The two poles apart BFFs are the literal definition of opposites attract. Wednesday is dark, brooding, and hug-averse, and Enid is a literal walking unicorn that’s as full of glitter as she is. Guess what? Their friendship is one of the most real friendships we’ve ever seen on television in years.
Chandler and Joey, Friends

Could they BE any more iconic?
Obviously, friendship day is incomplete without the mention of iconic FRIENDS duo Joey and Chan-Chan Man! Joey might not share food, but he will definitely not share Chandler? The sarcastic emotional hot mess we all crave. From chick and duck drama to recliner buddyroping and a million inside jokes, these two are the GOATs of goofy, unconditionally fierce friendship.
Damon and Alaric, The Vampire Diaries

How many times has this happened with you that you hated somebody at the beginning and ended up being best friends forever with them? Well, Damon and Alaric shared a similar story. A vampire and a vampire hunter, a deadly combination. Whether battling supernatural foes or drowning sorrows in scotch, these two never went anywhere without one another. They were the real definition of ‘brocode.’
Dustin and Steve, Stranger Things

Steve Harrington, a former high school jock turned monster-fighting big bro and the best babysitter of Hawkins somehow formed the purest friendship with brainy, bubbly Dustin. Their dynamic is hilarious, heartwarming, and surprisingly wholesome amidst the chaos of Demogorgons.
If you ever stumble upon a Blair to your Serena or Damon to your Alaric, do not et them slip away. Good friends are hard to find and harder to find again.
And if you haven’t met that person yet, don’t worry. Awesome friendships arrive when you least expect them.
Happy Friendship Day!
