At Coldplay’s concert at Gillette Stadium in Boston, the group’s lead singer, Chris Martin, took advantage of the stadium’s ‘kiss cam’ to interact with the audience. As the camera focused on Byron and Cabot, Martin made the remark, “Oh, look at these two.” But their shocked reaction was noticed. Byron ducked out of view instantly, and Cabot turned her back and covered her face.
Martin’s subsequent remark, “Oh, what. either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” was the icing on the cake. The segment went viral and began to ignite what’s now being referred to as “ColdplayGate” on social media.

Andy Byron has served as CEO and director of Astronomer since 2023. Prior to this role, he held positions at multiple tech companies. According to some reports, former employees have described him as a ‘toxic boss’.
Kristin Cabot came on board Astronomer in 2024 as Chief People Officer. In a welcome note published after she was appointed, Cabot complimented Byron and the leadership team. At the same time, Byron openly congratulated her too, stating: “Kristin’s outstanding leadership and extensive experience in talent management. make her an ideal fit for Astronomer.”

Relationship Status: Married or Not?
Andy Byron’s wife is Megan Kerrigan Byron, who has for the most part avoided the spotlight along with their kids. During the kiss cam debacle, social media erupted with people noticing that Megan might have simply switched her name on Facebook, removing ‘Byron’ and going back to ‘Kerrigan’. But still, no official confirmation from her was given.
Meanwhile, court documents indicate Kristin Cabot divorced her husband, Kenneth Thornby, in 2022, after filing for the divorce in 2018.

The event has elicited numerous responses on the internet. Elon Musk also chimed in, adding a laughing emoji to a tweet regarding the Byron-Cabot moment.
Though Astronomer hasn’t issued an official statement about the matter, the firm’s co-founder and ex-CEO Ry Walker explained that he is no longer part of the organization. “For those wondering – I’m no longer part of @astronomerio – yes I was early CEO and co-founder – not on the team or board since 2022, and have no info on ColdplayGate,” he posted on social media.
Thus far, neither Cabot nor Byron has commented publicly on the rumors. There has been no official word of any romance between the two beyond their working relationship.
