Pop star Ariana Grande made 9-year-old influencer Brie Bird’s day unforgettable with a thoughtful surprise. Brie, who is bravely sharing her stage 4 cancer journey online, received two mystery packages on August 7 from what she called her “favorite person in the whole wide world.”
Unwrapping the First Box of Gifts
Dressed in pink to match her Glinda Funko Pop figure, Brie opened the first package in a video she later shared on social media. Inside was a pink tumbler cup and plush toys of beloved Wicked and Wizard of Oz characters, including the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Elphaba, and the Wizard himself.
Ariana also added two Glinda-themed toys, a soft Squishmallow pillow, and a stuffed bunny wearing the Good Witch’s signature gown.
Second Package Filled with Beauty and Movie-Inspired Treats
The second box brought even more joy. Brie discovered OPI nail polishes inspired by the upcoming Wicked movie, two bright pink zip-up bags, a tote bag, and several beauty products from Ariana’s own REM Beauty brand. The package also included a bottle of her popular Cloud perfume.
As she revealed each item, Brie’s face lit up. “Thank you so, so, so, so much, Ariana Grande,” she said, smiling brightly. “I love everything in the package that you got, especially the Squishmallows and everything else. And I love that perfume, by the way,” she added.
A Personal Message from Ariana Grande
The heartwarming moment ended with a surprise video message from Ariana herself. The singer explained that she had learned of Brie’s love for Wicked and Glinda, which inspired her to send the gifts. “I’ve seen your videos and I think you are the most amazing, most inspiring little light beam in this universe,” Ariana told her. “You’re just so incredible… I’m sending you so much love and many, many, many virtual hugs. I hope this makes you smile, and I’ll speak to you soon. Love you.”
