Gnosia Anime: What is its Story?

It is set in a distant future where a terror, known as Gnosia, preys upon mankind by taking possession of starship crews' bodies and becoming murdering impersonators with a sole aim to exterminate the innocent. The game begins with the protagonists assembling on a spaceship to escape a planet devastated by the Gnosia infection. But the computer LeVi nonetheless recognises symptoms of Gnosia on board and initiates daily vote cycles: the crew must debate, suspect, and eventually vote a suspect to cryosleep, trying to preserve the rest.​

The series combines psychological thriller and sci-fi with a time-loop plot. Each "loop" restarts the mystery afresh, with role reversals so that anyone can be Gnosia, victim, or even the anomaly moving the timeline. Paranoia grows, and allegiances are tested as tension builds. Setsu, an important member of the crew, sees the main character throughout several loops; other lead characters—from SQ, Gina, Raqio, Shigemichi, to Yuriko—all have distinct personalities and agendas per round, so belief is difficult to achieve and lies are rife.​
