Actress Zareen Khan, known for her roles in movies like Veer, Housefull 2, and others, recently spoke out on the current state of Bollywood. In a recent interview, she shared her spoke on various actors and how she feels that they’ve not been fairly treated by the industry and audiences.
Zareen Khan on Why Alaya F is not Famous
In a conversation with Faridoon Shahyar, the Veer actress spoke about the current state of the film industry. She named a few actors that she believes have a lot of potential, one of them being Alaya F. While praising the young actress, Khan told Shahyar that she believes the reason behind the actress’s inactivity is the lack of a powerful figure behind her.
“Even Alaya—I think Alaya is so good. Unfortunately, maybe because she doesn’t have a powerful person backing her the way others do, she hasn’t received that many opportunities. But she is very talented, she is very good. Even the way she speaks—her speech, her conversations—are so good,” she told Faridoon.

Zareen Khan Defends Ibrahim Ali Khan
The actress also took a moment to praise Ibrahim Ali Khan and how he’s trying to leave a lasting impression in the film industry. She defended the actor from the criticism he has received for his debut movie, Nadaaniyan. She called it a “frivolous” movie and dismissed the criticisms of his acting in the film. Pointing to Sarzameen, she said that Ibrahim needs a better director to guide and bring the best out of him.
“Like in Ibrahim’s case—Nadaaniyan was, I’m sorry, but I think it was a very frivolous film. What could anyone even do in that? How much acting can you really showcase in such a film? So it depends on the film as well. I’ve seen Sarzameen and it looks like a slightly more intense film, and if you’re saying he is better in this, maybe he needs a director who can guide him,” Zareen said in the interview.

Zareen Khan: “I did not have a Karan Johar”
Other actors that have great potential according to Zareen are Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon and Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan. She praised Junaid’s performance in Maharaj, rating it as a better movie for him than Loveyapa.
Sharing her own example of how criticism hurt her career, she reflected on her debut with Veer alongside Salman Khan. She told Faridoon that the criticism that she received for Veer hindered her ability to get work, saying, “I did not have a Karan Johar backing me up.” She expressed her discontent with the fact that she did not have a powerful figure like Johar to support her acting career, let alone creating projects specifically for her.
“In Veer I debuted with like the biggest one of the biggest superstars of the country (Salman Khan) and everything but all the criticism that I faced that time it was so difficult for me to get work ahead I did not have a Karan Johar backing me up and irrespective making films for me even if the audience is not has not liked me or whatever you know so I think that matters a lot,” she said.
