Alia Bhatt has become the new global brand ambassador of Levi’s, but the achievement has triggered a strong backlash from Deepika Padukone’s fans while many have accused Alia of taking away Deepika’s place and expressed disappointment over the brand’s decision. While some called Alia insecure and jealous, others demanded Deepika’s return as the face of Levi’s. The announcement has sparked an online debate as both Alia and Deepika remain two of the biggest Bollywood stars with massive global followings and Hollywood projects to their credit.
The controversy began on Friday soon after Levi’s announced Alia Bhatt as its new global brand ambassador. Deepika Padukone’s fans quickly questioned the move. They asked why the Bajirao Mastani actress was removed from the position. Some even accused Alia of stealing the spot from Deepika. Others claimed that the Jigra actress looked insecure and jealous.

Social media flooded with reactions. One fan wrote, “You take everything away from Deepika." Another commented, “Why her…. Want Deepika back 😬😬😬😔 We need Deepika not Alia." A third user stated that Alia replacing Deepika for Levi’s is “definitely off." Another fan compared both stars and remarked, “Congratulations but the way Levi’s denim looks on Deepika is UNPARALLELED!! 😢😍."
Some fans went further and accused Alia of being obsessed with Deepika Padukone. One angry supporter wrote, “Alia ko le aao har jagah. She’s so hungry and jealous for everything. Matlab har jagah isko ghusna hai. Why she’s so obsessed with Deepika? Let us breathe bro. We are tired of seeing her repetitive face again and again har baar yehi dikhti hai. She has so many brands still she is not satisfied."
Despite the backlash, Alia Bhatt continues to remain one of the busiest stars in Bollywood. She was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She will soon headline YRF’s ambitious spy film Alpha. She will also star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War. The film marks her reunion with her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor after their collaboration on Brahmastra. Bhansali’s project also features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
