Shah Rukh Khan injured his arm during King shoot. Seen in a cast while accepting National Award, he assured fans he’ll return to screens soon.
Shah Rukh Khan was declared the joint recipient of the Best Actor award at the 71st National Film Awards on Friday. A few hours after the announcement, SRK took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video message thanking his fans for their love and support. But what caught the attention of many viewers was his arm wrapped in a cast.
Shah Rukh Khan sustained an injury during a shoot for his upcoming filmger ‘King’. As per sources, “He was shooting in Mumbai when he was injured. The exact details of the injury are being held under wraps at the moment. It is more of a muscular injury and nothing serious. That being said, it is not being taken lightly. Shah Rukh has travelled to the US for medical attention. He has been suggested to take a one-month rest.”
As a result, the shoot schedule for King, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan has been put on hold for July and August. Filming is expected to resume once the actor recovers.
Despite being injured, Shah Rukh maintained his charm and humour in the video. Addressing fans, he joked, "I would love to spread my arms and share my love, but I am a bit indisposed. But don't worry! Just keep the popcorn ready. I will be back in theatres and soon on the screen." He even managed to do his iconic arms-wide pose, albeit with just one hand.
Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey shared the National Award for Best Actor at the 71st edition of National Film Awards. Rani Mukherji won the Best Actress for her role in Mrs Chaterjee vs Norway. The award for best Film was bagged by 12th Fail.
