"The Bads of Bollywood" premiered on Netflix on 18th September 2025.
Netflix's new series The Ba***ds of Bollywood is taking over online discussions. The series, helmed by Aryan Khan in his directorial debut, is a satirical action comedy about a newcomer in Bollywood. The series features an ensemble cast of actors and an exhaustive list of cameos. Leading the series is Lakshya Lalwani (Lakshya) as Aasmaan Singh.
Aasmaan Singh begins as an outsider in the series, whose first film, Revolver, becomes an overnight blockbuster. His sudden fame brings him opportunities, but it also reveals the darker side of the industry, which involves rivalries, manipulation, and secrets.
Aasmaan's journey is a reflection of the plight of the many newcomers in Bollywood, between ambition and compromise. The story's dramatic plot twist also lends to his character's Bollywood journey while keeping the audience engaged. The character requires intensity and vulnerability, and thus is at the core of the series' theme of fame and price.
While Lakshya is hitting the headlines with this film, he is not unknown to fans. The 1996-born actor started his career on television with shows such as Warrior High (2015) and Adhuri Kahaani Hamari. Later, he rose to fame for his work in the historical drama Porus.
He made his film debut with Kill (2023), a high-octane movie that drew critical attention for its performance and choreography. That assignment showed what he could do, but The Ba***ds of Bollywood is his biggest assignment so far — a starring role in a big-ticket streaming series produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.

Lakshya's casting is central to the success of the show. As Asmaan Singh, he portrays the journey of an outsider in Bollywood, living through all that comes with the bright lights.
Thematically, Aryan Khan's first series explores nepotism, the insider-outsider dynamic, and the uncertainty of fame. Lakshya's character is positioned in the centre of the satire so that his performance is seen and heard.
With Indian projects being taken to the world by the reach of streaming platforms, Lakshya's casting in The Ba***ds of Bollywood comes when new talent can leave a worldwide mark. Lakshya's characterisation of Aasmaan Singh not only brings him to the forefront but also makes him a future star to watch.
