Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth, best known for her performance in Kantara Chapter 1, has alerted fans and the public about a fraudster impersonating her online. Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) account, the actress shared a mobile number (9445893273) used by the impersonator and urged people not to respond to calls or messages from it. She also tagged the Bengaluru City Police while reporting the incident.
Rukmini’s Warning on X
Sharing a detailed note on social media, Rukmini wrote and warned, “Important Alert & Awareness Message. It has come to my attention that an individual using the number 9445893273 is impersonating me and reaching out to various people under false pretenses.”
She clarified that the number is not connected to her in any way and warned her followers to stay alert. “I want to clarify that this number does not belong to me, and any messages or calls from it are completely fake. Please do not respond or engage with such messages. This act of impersonation falls under cybercrime and appropriate action is being taken against those involved in such fraudulent and misleading activities,” she wrote.

Bengaluru Police Responds
The Bengaluru City Police quickly responded to Rukmini’s post, confirming that such calls and messages are from fraudsters. They advised people to avoid sharing personal information and to report any suspicious activity. “These are fraudsters’ calls, messages. Please don’t share any information with them. Request you to report the matter at your nearest police station for necessary action,” the police wrote.
