Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, has broken her silence on the ongoing divorce rumours surrounding her parents. She firmly denied the reports and expressed gratitude for her family.
Tina Calls the Speculation Baseless
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Tina clarified, “It’s all rumours.” She further said that she does not let such stories affect her. “I don’t pay attention to these rumours,” she added.
When asked about her parents’ reaction, Tina replied, “Kya bolun mein? (What do I say?) He is not even in the country.” She also stated, “I feel blessed to have a beautiful family and I am really grateful for all the concern, love and support we have been receiving from the media, fans, and loved ones.”
Lawyer and Family Sources Also Reject Rumours
The divorce buzz began earlier this year and resurfaced recently. Speaking to NDTV, Govinda’s lawyer, Lalit Bindal, dismissed the reports, saying, “Koi case nahi sab settle ho raha hai ye sab log purani cheezen utha ke daal rahe hain” (“There is no case, everything is being settled, people are just bringing up old matters”).
Family sources also assured that the couple will be seen together soon. One source mentioned, “Abhi Ganesh Chaturthi aayega, aapko sab saath mein nazar aayenge, aap ghar aaiyega” (“This Ganesh Chaturthi, you will see everyone together, you should come home”).

Background of the Speculation
Talk of trouble in their marriage began after Sunita Ahuja shared personal details during interviews. In one conversation with Hindi Rush, she spoke about Govinda’s lack of romantic gestures, saying with a laugh, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He doesn’t go on holidays. I am a person who wants to go out with her husband and eat pani-puri on the streets. He spent too much time working. I don’t recall a single instance when we both went out to watch a movie.”
Adding to the speculation, an ETimes report claimed that Sunita had even sent a separation notice a few months ago, though no further action was taken. The same report suggested that the couple may have reconciled recently. While Sunita has attended court-mandated counselling sessions, it is unclear whether Govinda has participated.
Govinda and Sunita’s Marriage
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987. They kept their marriage secret until after their daughter Tina was born in 1988. Later, the couple welcomed their son Yashvardhan in 1997. Despite ongoing rumours, Tina insists that her family remains strong and united.
