The Taj Story Trailer Out Now: After beginning in hot water a few weeks ago over its motion poster, the trailer for Taj Story is finally out. Written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, the movie has been the centre of discussion on social media for promoting unconfirmed theories surrounding the history of the Taj Mahal.

The Taj Story Trailer Out Now

The Taj Story Trailer was released a few hours ago, with curious netizens sitting through the trailer to check out the movie’s premise. This scepticism regarding the movie is caused by the motion poster of the movie, which was released two weeks ago. In the poster, the movie seemed to be promoting the unconfirmed theories about the Taj Mahal’s being constructed in place of a Shiv Mandir. The poster depicted Paresh Rawal picking up the tomb of Taj Mahal to reveal the idol of Lord Shiva.

The Taj Story trailer showcases Paresh Rawal playing the role of Vishu Das, a tour guide in Agra, who takes travellers on a tour of the Taj Mahal. It showcases him as a devout Hindu who believes the Taj Mahal to be a symbol of genocide, contrary to its usual depiction as a symbol of undying love.

In the trailer, Vishnu Das (Paresh Rawal) files a case against Taj Mahal, arguing for its status as a temple rather than a gravesite. Throughout its runtime, the trailer takes jabs at Mughal history and how they persecuted Hindus to spread Islam. In one scene, Das (played by Paresh Rawal) passes a witty remark to his opposing lawyer, played by Zakir Hussain, who questions why Shah Jahan would build a temple, by saying Yes, they were more focused on destroying them.

The trailer also shed light on the secrets kept behind the closed chambers of the Taj Mahal. It takes the fact that the chambers are closed off to build a hypothetical story around what would’ve led to that decision from the authorities. It also questions the education system and the information being passed down to the younger generation.

Overall, the trailer builds The Taj Story as a courtroom drama revisiting the arguments around the construction of the Taj Mahal. The trailer informs the viewers that the story is inspired by true events and an attempt at revisiting the history of the seventh wonder of the world.

Cast of The Taj Story

The Taj Story features an ensemble of known faces from the Hindi film industry. The movie stars Paresh Rawal in the lead role with Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Namit Das, Sneha Wagh & more playing supporting roles in the film.

The Taj Story: Questions about Taj Mahal’s History

Contrary to what the team behind The Taj Story said in response to the initial backlash around its content, the movie seems to be doubling down on what was initially believed. Although the movie is more centred around questioning and revisiting existing facts rather than selling one idea, it still has the potential to misrepresent the monument’s history. Given that the theories being discussed in the movie are still unconfirmed.

The Taj Story takes Rawal back to his character of Kanji Lalji Mehta from his 2012 hit movie OMG – Oh My God! For now, the sentiment around the movie in the lead-up to its release and the reception of the film is the thing to look forward to.
