First look posters of Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal from Maddock’s upcoming horror-comedy Thama (Social Media)
The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe prepares itself for yet another chapter featuring Thama by Aditya Sarpotdar.
On Monday night, the production house unveiled their much-awaited first looks of the star-studded cast: Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. Each poster introduced their unique characters, sparking curiosity and fan theories across the internet.
Ayushmann portrays Alok, who is said to be "Insaaniyat ki aakhri umeed" (last hope of humanity). His poster shows him in an unabashed look and wears a dark jacket, informing the audiences that he is a savior-like person.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Tadaka, which has been introduced as "Roshni ki ek hi pehli kiran" (the first ray of light). She is adorned in an antique gown, very elegant and mysterious, indicating that she is perhaps the guiding force in the story.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui transforms into Yakshasan, simply called "Andhere ka badshah" (the king of dark). This character looks a little more shot with long hair and creeps up close to that of a vampire.
At last, the greatly seasoned star Paresh Rawal yokes to Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal, "[who] can make tragedy out of everything he sees as comedy." The casual polo t-shirt and sweater definitely set aside the character designs-black and white, promising comic relief.
The posters made social media go crazy overnight. Some eagle-eyed caught what they think spelled link to Stree under an idol placed in Rashmika's poster. Others even spotted what looked like the silhouette of Nawazuddin appearing behind her. All of them together raise the urgency of hidden crossovers in the Maddock universe.

Starting in the year 2018, a Stree set the tone for what was branded as the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), where cultural phenomena birthed out of this blockbuster had Bhediya (2022) leading the way, with Munjya (2024) and the smash-hitting sequel Stree 2 set to join ways and rake in $857 billion worldwide come 2024. All these get interconnected through folklore humor, thus making it one of Bollywood's most successful experimental universes.
Thama is set for a Diwali release, and it first had its Launch on August 19th at 11:11 in the morning. Built with such a powerhouse cast and conceiving intriguing character reveals, fans await eagerly in anticipation of how this one links with the bigger universe.
Thama is expected to deliver on spookiness, laughs and larger-than-life narratives. In all likelihood, this will ensure that the Maddock legacy in horror-comedy cinema gains greater strength.
