In the often-unpredictable orbit of celebrity gossip, such as Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia addressing rumours long floated about her with cricketer Abdul Razzaq and cricketer Virat Kohli. She candidly shared with The Lallantop her ordeal of how a simple post with either of the two caused wild speculation about her private life.
The rumour mills began turning for Tamannaah and Abdul Razzaq back in 2020, after a picture of the two from an event held in a jewellery store started to circulate. The event was simply a professional assignment and thus led the gossip columns to start speculating about a romantic interest. About the whole episode, Tamannaah amusingly reminisced: Mazaak mazaak mein Abdul Razzaq! According to the internet, I was briefly married to him. I’m sorry, sir, you have two or three children! I don’t even know your life." While she concedes that the Internet is fun for some things, she added, such fabrications cross some lines, and for them to have done so about her, she was embarrassed and puzzled.
There was another unnecessary media frenzy set off around the same time because of Kohl's brief encounter with Tamannaah. A commercial shoot was done by the two, after which speculations arose about a possible affair. She chronicled: "I met Virat for only one day during the ad shoot. After that, I haven’t spoken to or seen him." She added that "to be somehow connected with somebody" when "there is no actual relationship is an awkward feeling of disrespect" for her.
In this advertisement, Virat used charm to get Tamannaah to give him her phone number. Soon after, the video sparked relationship rumors, implying that Virat and Tamannaah were briefly dating after working together. After many years, Tamannaah has finally spoken out about these reports.
Tamannaah's point of view would also reflect upon the wider issues that many in the limelight are facing concerning some baseless narrative being pushed upon them. She said such tales may seem harmless to the outside world but take away precious peace of mind.
Now, on the career front, Tamannaah was recently seen in Odela 2, playing the role of an apparition in a supernatural thriller. It was a departure from her own set of performances, and she has also been seen in hits like Stree 2 and the much-loved Aaj Ki Raat. Currently, she is prepping for VVAN: Force of the Forest with co-actor Sidharth Malhotra, a nature-action film expected on theatres on May 15 next year.
