Labubu doll trends, characterized by large eyes and oddball expressions, have swept through social media and Bollywood into a frenzy.

Celebrities including Ananya Panday, Urvashi Rautela and Khushi Kapoor were omnipresent with these dolls, intensifying the frenzy. Actor Surveen Chawla, in an unfiltered moment, shared her skeptical perspective about the phenomenon.

“I Don’t Find Them Cute”

In Surveen’s interview on Zoom, she recalls a conversation she had with her daughter about these quickie dolls. “It’s quite a craze among children. My daughter was talking about a Labubu doll and I told her, ‘It is very strange.’

She immediately said, ‘Why? It’s not strange. Mumma, don’t call it strange. It’s so cute.’ But honestly, I didn’t find it cute at all.” Her candid remarks indicate that the doll mania widespread across houses and Instagram feeds must have its few non-followers.

Labubu Dolls and Celebrity Antics

The odd-most attractive features of these dolls might have also led to some humorous celebrity moments. Bharti Singh was in news for jokingly holding a Labubu responsible for her son Golla’s troublesome behavior.

In one of her vlogs, she dramatically set the doll on fire while saying, “Ever since this came home, Golla has become really mischievous. I know it sounds superstitious, but everyone has been saying the same thing.” Adding her comedic twist to the ongoing conversation about the dolls was all in good fun.

Surveen Chawla’s Upcoming Projects

While stating her opinions on the doll fever, she also talked about her professional projects. Last seen in Netflix original Mandala Murders alongside Vaani Kapoor, the next project to follow is Andhera, an urban horror series starring Karanvir Malhotra, Priya Bapat, Raaghav Dar and Prajakta Koli.
