While he is usually seen as warm, playful, and deeply affectionate with his children, there are moments when he takes on the role of a strict parent. This lesser-known side of SRK once caught Amitabh Bachchan’s attention, who later shared how he personally witnessed the superstar scolding young Suhana during a casual visit to Mannat.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Memory of Suhana’s Childhood Moment
In 2023, Suhana Khan appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 with filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and actor Vedang Raina to promote The Archies. During the conversation, Amitabh Bachchan asked Suhana who was the stricter parent between Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. Suhana instantly replied that her mother, Gauri, was stricter. However, Big B had a different take and reminded her of a memory from her childhood.

The veteran actor recalled visiting SRK for a meeting when little Suhana interrupted, eager to swim in their newly built pool. To her surprise, Shah Rukh firmly refused, saying, “No, you will not swim,” and immediately sent her back. Big B added with a smile, “From that day, I thought you would say your father is the stricter parent.”
Suhana’s Response to the Story
Suhana, however, admitted that she doesn’t remember the incident and playfully added that it might have been “the only time my dad said no to me.” Amitabh gently teased her, reminding her that Shah Rukh had even scolded her, but Suhana remained unconvinced, replying, “I don’t remember it, but I don’t believe that.” Wrapping up the lighthearted exchange, Amitabh said, “It’s good you forgot it. Now, when Shah Rukh watches this show, he will remember.”
Suhana Khan’s Career and Upcoming Film with SRK
On the professional front, Suhana Khan made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, which premiered on Netflix in 2023. She is now preparing for her next big project, King, where she will share screen space with her father. The film, however, has faced a brief halt in shooting due to Shah Rukh’s health issues.
According to production sources, SRK strained his shoulder while filming an intense action sequence at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai. Though the injury was not life-threatening, doctors advised him to undergo treatment in the United States as a precaution. Reports suggest he has been asked to take at least a month-long break to recover fully. If his health progresses well, filming for King is expected to resume by September or October 2025.
