Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor’s brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, appeared before the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar on Tuesday for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a ₹252-crore drug case. Popular social media personality Orhan Awatramani, known as ‘Orry’, has also been summoned in the case.

Summons Issued to Siddhanth Kapoor and Orry

Siddhanth Kapoor was called on November 25 to record his statement as part of the investigation. Orry, who did not appear last week due to being out of town, was instructed to appear on November 26. Both are being questioned in connection with a drug trafficking network uncovered by Mumbai Police.

Case Traces Back to 2022 Arrest

The investigation first began in August 2022 when the crime branch along with the Ghatkopar ANC arrested a man named Shaikh from Nagpada and seized mephedrone (MD) worth ₹1.19 lakh. Subsequent arrests followed, leading investigators to a major breakthrough in March 2024 when a large-scale mephedrone manufacturing unit operating out of a farm in Sangli district was discovered.

Allegations of Lavish Parties and Drug Trafficking

According to statements from accused trafficker Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh, several well-known figures including Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, filmmakers Abbas-Mustan, rapper Loka, and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique allegedly attended “lavish parties” in Dubai and Mumbai. Reports also claim that luxury cars like BMWs and Mercedes were used to move drugs discreetly. Police officials, however, told that these claims are still under verification as the investigation is in its early stages.

Shaikh is currently in the custody of the Ghatkopar ANC, and Orry is expected to be questioned about the new accusations and his possible links to the drug network.

Drug Network Linked to Dawood Ibrahim Aides

Police sources revealed that the Sangli drug facility was controlled by wanted trafficker Salim Dola, a key member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang, along with his son Taher. Taher was deported from the UAE and arrested in June, followed by the deportation and arrest of his relative Mustaffa Mohammad Khubbawala in July. Shaikh was later deported in October and taken into custody on November 5.

According to an investigating officer, Khubbawala supplied raw materials from Surat, which were transported to the Sangli unit for manufacturing MD. The finished drugs were then sent to Mira Road for distribution. To avoid detection, traffickers transported drugs using high-end luxury cars. The money earned from distribution was allegedly moved to key operatives in Dubai through hawala channels.

Shaikh also admitted to running multiple drug production units and supplying substances including cocaine, MDMA, hashish, charas, and mephedrone, according to investigators.
