Sara Ali Khan once again embraced her spiritual side and attended Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s Dashashwamedh Ghat on Saturday night. The ghat was echoed with ringing bells, rhythmic drums, and peaceful chanting of mantras.
Sara’s Spiritual Yet Stylish Look
The actress wore a stylish and elegant outfit, dressing in a simple ethnic white outfit and light makeup, blending well with the other saints in attendance. The celebrity was recognized by the members of the Ganga Seva Nidhi, such as its president, Sushant Mishra, who gifted her an angavastra and prasad in the form of a traditional ceremonial reception, showing the intersection of culturality and religious practice.
This event is not Sara’s first experience of the spiritual energy of Varanasi. She has been present for the Ganga Aarti on several past occasions, usually with her mother, Amrita Singh. Since her on-screen debut in 2018 in Kedarnath, Sara has maintained a regular interface with places of worship and holy places, often sharing insights into these experiences with her followers, thus mirroring her own adherence to cultural and religious practices.

Sara’s Beliefs on Religion
Sara Ali Khan involvement, although being respected by many as being rooted and being devoutly respectful of heritage, has been under fire too, especially for visiting Hindu temples since being from her Nawabi Pataudi heritage. Sara has tackled such an argument with poise, laying the focus on a viewpoint that moves beyond traditional lines of religion and caste. As she spoke, “I do not want to see things through the eyes of religion and the caste divide in society,” expressing a conscious separation of religion from social classification and a statement of spiritual independence.

Sara Ali Khan’s Upcoming Project
Alongside her prayerful endeavors, Sara continues to be actively involved in her professional obligations. She is currently shooting Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, sharing screen space for the first time with Ayushmann Khurrana. The shooting is in progress in Prayagraj, previously called Allahabad. But the shoot recently faced working difficulties when a scuffle with locals ended in reported physical altercations with crew members, halting shooting and also posing concerns regarding the safety and logistical control of public-location shooting in India.
