Actress Sara Ali Khan took part in the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s Dashashwamedh Ghat on Saturday. The ‘Kedarnath’ star offered prayers to Mother Ganga, surrounded by the rhythmic sounds of bells, drums, and the chanting of mantras.
Fans and devotees were delighted to see Sara in simple ethnic attire with minimal makeup, embracing the spiritual atmosphere. She was warmly welcomed by Sushant Mishra, President of Ganga Seva Nidhi, along with other officials, who offered her angavastra and prasad.
A Tradition of Religious Visits
Sara has been attending the Ganga Aarti for several years, often with her mother, Amrita Singh. Since her acting debut in 2018, she has frequently visited religious sites like Kedarnath and other temples, earning admiration for embracing her maternal heritage.
Addressing critics who question her temple visits despite her Nawabi family background, Sara said she does not view life through the lens of religion or caste divisions, emphasizing her focus on spiritual experiences rather than societal labels.
On the Sets of “Pati Patni Aur Woh 2”
Sara is currently busy with her upcoming romantic comedy “Pati Patni Aur Woh 2”, where she will share the screen with Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time. The film’s main schedule is underway in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad).
The shoot recently faced some disruption from local residents, with reports suggesting certain crew members were allegedly attacked, creating panic on set. While the reasons behind the incident are still unclear, it has raised concerns about security for public film shoots. Despite this, videos of Sara and Ayushmann working on set have gone viral on social media, keeping fans eagerly anticipating the film.
Sequel Promises More Romance and Comedy
The sequel is being directed by Mudassar Aziz, who also directed the 2019 hit “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday. With Sara and Ayushmann leading the cast, the movie is expected to deliver a blend of romance, humor, and family drama, continuing the charm that made the first film successful.
Balancing Spirituality and Career
Sara’s visit to the Ganga Aarti highlights her ability to balance her spiritual pursuits with a demanding film career. Whether performing rituals on the ghats of Varanasi or shooting for high-profile films, she continues to maintain a down-to-earth persona, connecting with both fans and devotees alike.
