Both Nandika and Gulnaaz have publicly denied any involvement in the alleged cheating scandal.
The wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal was abruptly put on hold when Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a serious health scare just hours before the ceremony. The family rushed him to the hospital, prompting the couple to delay the wedding indefinitely. Reports say the health of a close family member took priority over the celebrations, but there was another side too, which was an alleged expose on social media that Palaash cheated on Smriti Madnana with her choreographer.
In the hours following the postponement, social media buzzed with screenshots and gossip claiming that Palaash had cheated on Smriti, ostensibly with a choreographer hired for the wedding festivities. Names such as Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan quickly spread online as the alleged “third parties” in the controversy. The rapid spread of these rumours added another layer of confusion to an already emotional situation.
Soon after her father’s hospitalisation, Palaash too faced a health setback — reportedly triggered by emotional stress. His mother revealed that he had fallen ill, gotten medical treatment, and was asked to rest. Given the emotional and physical strain, both families agreed to postpone the wedding.
Both Nandika and Gulnaaz have publicly denied any involvement in the alleged cheating scandal. Addressing the rumours on social media, one wrote: “I want to address and clarify that the assumptions being made about me, particularly the idea that I played a role in disrupting anyone’s relationship, are simply NOT true.”
She added, “It’s extremely painful to watch a narrative form around something I had no part in, and even more difficult to see how quickly these stories grow without any basis in reality.”

She also spoke about the personal toll — receiving threats and protecting her mental health. Similarly, Gulnaaz stated that the claims against her and Nandika are “false” and urged people not to jump to conclusions based purely on online speculation.
Palaash’s mother has clarified that the postponement was purely due to health concerns in Smriti’s family. She said that Palaash is deeply attached to Smriti’s father and insisted that the wedding not proceed until he recovers.
She appealed for privacy and asked everyone to respect the difficult time the families are going through. Meanwhile, Smriti removed all pre-wedding social media posts, signalling a pause to celebrations. Neither she nor Palaash has issued any direct public comment on the cheating rumours.
At present, the wedding remains postponed indefinitely. There is no confirmed reschedule date. The families seem focused on recovery and privacy rather than addressing rumours. With both choreographers denying involvement and the primary explanation being a medical emergency, the focus has shifted back to health and calm.
