Mahesh Manjrekar’s ex-wife and famous costume designer Deepa Mehta is no more in this world. Mahesh and Deepa’s son, Satya Manjrekar, shared the sad news of Deepa’s death on social media on September 28, 2025. Satya also posted an Instagram post as tributes and condolences were sent in by friends and well-wishers.
Satya posted a photo of his mom on his social media story and posted a heartfelt message that says, “I miss you, Mumma ❤️????️.”
Tributes flowed in for the soul departed, and Satya reposted heartfelt messages on his Instagram. One read, “Lost my guiding light today. She was more than a mother; she was an inspiration for me. Her strength, courage, and passion in building her saree business empowered so many girls to dream big and to take a stand in society. She will always live on through the lives she touched and the paths she paved.” Prayers and strength to you, Satya. May her inspiring soul give you strength.
Another one posted, “I was sad to learn about your mother’s demise. She was a great person, and her memory will forever be in our hearts. My heartfelt condolences are with you.”

Mahesh Manjrekar wed Deepa Mehta in 1987. The couple had met while they were in college. The duo, who married in 1987, parted ways in 1995. The couple has a son and daughter, Ashwami Manjrekar and Satya Manjrekar. Mahesh later separated from Deepa and wed actress Medha Manjrekar, and they have a daughter by the name of Saiee Manjrekar.
