Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR’s War 2 are engaged in a fierce struggle at the Indian box office. Despite having great debuts, both movies’ Saturday box office receipts declined. Despite this, Ashwin Kumar’s animated epic Mahavatar Narasimha and Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara continued to maintain their grip on the audience.
Here’s a detailed look at the Saturday box office collections of these four films.
Coolie Maintains Lead in Clash
Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest release Coolie entered theatres just three days ago and has already stormed the box office. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial opened with a massive ₹65 crore on its first day.

On Friday, the film collected ₹54.75 crore but dipped slightly on Saturday, earning ₹38.6 crore. Despite the decline, the multi-starrer featuring Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, and Aamir Khan alongside Rajinikanth has managed a strong three-day total of ₹158.7 crore.
War 2 Follows Close Behind
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 is proving to be a strong competitor. The film kicked off its run with impressive numbers and is drawing huge crowds. However, on Friday, it fell short against Coolie, and the decline continued on Saturday.
The action spectacle collected ₹57.35 crore on Friday but dropped to ₹33.25 crore on Saturday. The three-day total now stands at ₹142.71 crore. While Coolie currently leads the race, War 2 is not far behind, making the clash one of the biggest box office battles in recent times.
Mahavatar Narasimha Crosses ₹200 Crore
Even amid these big-budget clashes, the animated devotional film Mahavatar Narasimha is holding its ground firmly. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film narrates the story of Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The movie made 7.25 crore rupees on Friday and 6.75 crore rupees on Saturday. In just 23 days, Mahabatar Narasimha has amassed an incredible 202.35 crore rupees. Audiences throughout India are still moved by its spiritual subject and compelling narrative.
Saiyaara Sustains Momentum
Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has emerged as a sleeper hit. The film has already crossed ₹324 crore in just 30 days, despite facing tough competition from new releases.
On Friday, the romantic drama managed a collection of ₹50 lakh. Saturday’s numbers are yet to be confirmed, but trade experts believe the film will maintain steady collections given its strong emotional connect with audiences.
Big Battle Ahead
With Coolie and War 2 locked in a fierce box office clash, and Mahavatar Narasimha as well as Saiyaara holding their positions, the coming weeks are set to witness even bigger competition. Trade analysts believe that word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, and festive holidays could play a key role in determining the ultimate winner.
The Indian box office has rarely seen such a diverse mix—star-driven blockbusters, an animated mythological tale, and a love story—ruling simultaneously.
