A minor parking argument in Delhi’s Bhogal, Nizamuddin turned violent on Thursday night, leading to the death of Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi. The 38-year-old was allegedly attacked near the Jangpura Bhogal market around 11:00 PM, after he asked two men to move a parked scooter from in front of his house.
The Delhi Police have arrested two brothers, Gautam and Ujjwal, in connection with the case.
Minor Argument Over Scooter Turns Fatal
“Asif asked them to move it aside and not block the entrance,” said Saleem Qureshi, Huma’s father and Asif’s uncle. “This led to a verbal altercation that turned physical. They were two, together they killed my nephew.”

Asif was seriously injured in the attack and rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Victim’s Wife Alleges Premeditated Murder
Asif’s wife, Shaheen Asif Qureshi, claimed the murder was not sudden. She alleged that the attackers had harassed her husband earlier as well.
“The dispute started after a youth parked a scooter near our gate, blocking the entrance. When my husband requested him to move it a little, the youth allegedly began hurling abuses,” she told reporters.

“He said he would move the scooter, but instead he returned with more people and started abusing him,” she added.
“Ujjwal suddenly attacked him in the chest. He fell instantly, covered in blood. I tried to save him, but I was pushed away. Then some more people, who live with them, also attacked and abused him.”
Police Arrest Two Brothers in Case
Following the incident, the Delhi Police arrested Gautam and Ujjwal, both residents of the area. According to officials, Ujjwal initiated the assault, which escalated quickly into a fatal attack.
Additionally, according to the police, the victim and the defendant had previously argued about parking-related matters.
At the Nizamuddin police station, a murder case has been filed, and an investigation is currently being conducted.
Ongoing Probe and Family’s Demand for Justice
The family has demanded strict measures and justice for Asif. Many residents are tense over the incident, and say that disagreements of this nature are very normal and usually ignored until they turn violent.
Asif’s connection to Huma Qureshi has further brought attention to the case as authorities continue their investigation.
What began as a seemingly small dispute has now ended in tragedy — one that highlights growing concerns about urban aggression and neighbourhood violence in the capital.
