Veteran actress Kiran Joneja recently shared her thoughts on marrying filmmaker Ramesh Sippy more than 30 years ago. In a conversation with Lehren Retro, she addressed questions about their significant age difference and the fact that she became his second wife.
When asked whether she, as a young woman at the time, had any hesitation in marrying a much older, previously married man, Kiran responded confidently. She explained that she was never concerned about being judged for marrying someone who had a past.
"Married ka hota if I was the home breaker, I already knew what the situation was. It's not like I broke a home, I was ok with that, that was not my worry," she said.
Kiran added that she had always felt more comfortable around older people. "But I've always gotten along better with older people, somehow, men or women. Maybe I was too mature for my age, I don't know what it was. I couldn't be in tune mentally with boys my age. He was a little much older but I didn't face it."
Kiran shared that what attracted her most to Ramesh was not fame or success, but his nature. She admired the way he treated others with kindness and respect.
"His personality," she replied when asked what made her fall for him. She explained that he never spoke harshly to anyone. "He was humble and polite," she added, emphasizing that she genuinely liked him as a person.
