Bollywood forever diva and “Dream Girl” of India, Hema Malini, is mourning the loss of her husband and Bollywood most loved Indian cinema actor, Dharmendra Deol. After 45 years of married life, the legendary actor passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving a huge void in the world of Indian cinema and in Hema Malini’s personal life.
The on-screen and off-screen chemistry between Dharmendra and Hema Malini became an industry benchmark. They worked together in so many blockbuster movies, such as Sholay, Aas Paas, and Pratigya.
However, their love crossed all boundaries when they first met on the set of the famous movie Tum Haseen Main Jawan in the 1970s. This film became the starting point of one of Bollywood’s most enduring love stories.

Three days after the passing of the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, Hema Malini posted a touching tribute on her official X (formerly Twitter) account:

Hema Malini and Dharmendra Deol Marriage: A Family Controversy
Their relationship was often the subject of public discussion, especially since Dharmendra was already married to Prakash Kaur. Dharmendra and Hema Malini reportedly converted to Islam to formalise their marriage in a private nikah ceremony, a claim Dharmendra later denied in an interview.
Later, the couple also tied the knot in a traditional Iyengar wedding to honour Hema Malini’s South Indian roots. Despite the public scrutiny, their bond remained strong, built on deep affection and mutual respect.

Dharmendra and Hema Malini Children
Dharmendra is survived by his children from both marriages. From his first marriage to Prakash Kaur, he has two sons, actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and two daughters, Vijeta Deol and Ajeeta Deol.
With Hema Malini, he had two daughters:
Esha Deol (Actress) and Ahana Deol.
Dharmendra Deol Last Movie
Dharmendra’s passing marks the end of an era, but his work will continue to live on. His last on-screen performance is set to be in the upcoming film Ikkis, which is directed by Sriram Raghavan.
In this film, Dharmendra portrays M. L. Khetarpal, the proud father of the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. The film is scheduled to release on December 25, 2025.
